Vermouth di Torino Bianco Gamondi

Vermouth di Torino Bianco Gamondi

PiedmontItaly

Vermouth di Torino carries its own rulebook: made only in Piedmont, built on Italian wine, flavoured above all with wormwood grown right there in the region — a protected status the Piedmontese earned in 2017 after more than a century of practice. Gamondi has been part of that practice since 1890, and this award-winning bianco skips the caramel colour of a rosso for something paler and more floral. Pour it over ice with soda, or into an Americano when rosso's turn comes around.

Production Notes

Gamondi Vermouth di Torino Rosso is crafted following the original recipe of herbalist Carlo Gamondi, individually infusing his signature botanicals (arthemisia, bitter orange, vanilla, saffron, myrrh, and red sandalwood) into a blend of Piedmontese wines, then sweetened and fortified with neutral spirit

Gamondi

Carlo Gamondi was born in Acqui in 1868, on Strada della Maggiora. At just 22, he opened a small grocery store, setting the stage for his creation of the world-renowned Amaro Gamondi. By 1912, after earning various accolades, he transformed the store into a tasting corner, inviting locals to experience his unique amaro. Though his son Giuseppe Carlo promoted the brand, his untimely death at 40 left no heirs. The Barberis family then took over, expanding production and introducing new recipes based on Carlo’s original creations. Today, under Gianfranco Toso and Valter Porro, Amaro Gamondi, along with its bitter and aperitivo, continues to honor tradition with passion and craftsmanship
