Mondragone sits on the same stretch of Campanian coast the Romans called Ager Falernus, home of Falernian, the most celebrated wine of the ancient world — and Antica Distilleria Petrone, distilling here since 1858, named this amaro for that ground. It's built along the same herb-and-root tradition as its sibling Amarè, though it carries its own recipe — best met slowly, after the plates are cleared, alongside dark chocolate, dried fruit or chestnuts. A small, old-world bottle carrying a genuinely old story.
