Production Notes
- The winemaking begins in the vineyard with meticulous grape selection and hand harvesting to ensure only the best bunches are chosen.
- The grapes undergo a long maceration on the skins with daily manual punching down.
- After alcoholic fermentation, the wine matures for 5 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling, followed by three months aging in the cellar.
Fattoria Montecchio
The story of Fattoria Montecchio intertwines with the Nuti family's legacy. In 1973, Ivo Nuti, originally from Cerreto Guidi near Leonardo da Vinci's birthplace, bought and restored the estate of Marchesi Torrigiani. With a passion for wine and business, he revitalized the Chianti Classico area, guided by his wife Maria and their sons Andrea, Fabrizio, and Riccardo. They renovated, replanted vineyards, and built a modern winery, complementing it with artisanal crafts and olive oil production, embodying Tuscan traditions.
